The advantages of simulation, also known as finite element analysis, consist in the possibility of dealing with field problems:
- defined on complex geometries, and this represents the heart and power of FEM methods
- related to a wide variety of engineering problems (mechanics of solids, fluids, heat, electrostatics, etc.)
- with complex constraint conditions
- with complex load conditions
The stages that divide the analysis process into three stages are:
- pre-processing is where the finite element model is built
- actual analysis processing with the resolution of the problem to the finite elements
- post-processing is where the solution is processed and represented
